CLIMATE SERVICE 15 MAY AT ST MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS

CLIMATE SERVICE 15 MAY, 11 pm (23.00)
ST MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS CHURCH, TRAFALGAR SQUARE, LONDON
www.christian-ecology.org.uk/vigil.htm

Governments lost the plot at last year’s Copenhagen summit, and sceptics have been getting all the airtime recently with some feeble assertions. From the general election campaign you’d think that the problem of dangerous climate change had gone away. But it hasn’t. It’s vital to remember the truth, that we’re still in trouble. We need prayer and prophecy, creativity and campaigning.

Join us in London on the night of the 15th May, to pray that the new government makes climate change a top priority and to remind them that they must.

This isn’t an easy ask – to ask you to come to a service at 11PM at night, with the even harder option of staying up all night! Can I assure you that your sacrifice of sleep and goodnaturedness the next day will likely be trumped by the beauty of classical architecture bathed in candlelight and Taize music and the sense of solidarity with fellow campaigners and the victims of climate change.

Please join us. But even if you can’t, please forward this email to anyone you know who might like the opportunity to sing in St Martin’s or simply be there and help us keep truth alive.
