Cheadle Hulme Methodist
'Spiritual' Activities:
- Two showings of the film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ followed by discussion organized by ‘Focus’ (attended by 45 (approx) church members)
- ‘Climate Change Weekend’ (Feb. 2008) Friday/Saturday and Sunday worship involving:
- Exhibitions:
- 8 local schools, scouts and playgroup.
- Local organisations including Local Authority, Energy Savings Trust, etc
- Personal reflection ‘Labyrinth’
- ‘Expert speakers’ at a public forum (audience - 150)
- Sunday worship focused on Climate Change and our responsibilities as Christians.
- Exhibitions:
- Further meeting of ‘Focus’ ‘What on earth are we doing to our planet’ (audience/participants – 30)
- Mens Breakfast talk and discussion (audience/participants - 15 )
- Articles for Church Magazine.:
- September 2007 ‘Climate Change……..’
- October 2007 ‘Lifestyle Changes……..’
- November 2007 ‘Did you know…?’
- December/January 2008 ‘More Tips and Hints on Lifestyle Changes….’
- February 2008 ‘is Global Warming a lot of Hot Air?’

Practical activities:
- Energy Audit completed in part by ‘Final year Degree student project.’
- Low energy light bulbs installed
- Professional Energy Audit – has been done, report awaited.
Outreach activities:
- Sharing information through local press and publicity, information on the church website
- Working in partnership with community groups Cheadle Hulme Partnership, Stockport MBC, local schools, scouts.
- Working towards a more sustainable global community e.g. supporting fair trade, a Christian environment/development agency
