Activities in different areas of church life:
'Spiritual':
- regular ecotips in church leaflet
- Lent Bible study course (USPG)
- Bible study course (SAGE)
- Intercessions include creation care.
Practical:
- recycling projects (spectacles, bottle tops, stamps, toner cartridges, mobile phones, household items and clothes)
- gas and electricity use monitored by children's club
- eco friendly cleaning materials used
- Fair trade items used.
Mission:
- community river clean up project (annual event)
- supporting community fair trade events
- local twinning initiative
- supporting hospital in Tanzania with USPG
- planted acorns, which the Council will plant
- working with Council sustainability officer
- work with other local churches for events such as Christian Aid week, Lent lunches etc.
- tried veg box scheme in church
- work with children's club on eco ideas.
