  • Green tips in church magazine and pew leaflet
  • home group looked at environmental issues as part of York course

Practical - church buildings, land and management:

  • fruit tree and Buddleia in church grounds to attract wildlife
  • green waste, waste paper, tins, bottles and plastic are all recycled
  • low energy lightbulbs are replacing others
  • some double glazed windows
  • energy use monitored and reducing
  • planted 48 tress in Mersey ForestĀ 

Mission - reaching out to the local and/or global community:

  • Fairtrade church selling Traidcraft goods, and leading members in Alsager Fairtrade town campaign
  • auction and ebay sale of unwanted items
  • support local charity for the homeless
  • recycling of items encouraged: for sale (eg ink cartridges), and to charity (eg specs, mobile phones, tools, stamps, coins)
  • batteries collected for safe disposal
  • public meetings hosted on fairtrade and other global issues
  • One World Week events in Alsager began at Wesley Place, and have expanded to a major event in the civic centre, and school assemblies
