A Rocha UK
Caring for God's world together
A Rocha UK is a Christian environmental and nature conservation charity and believes that caring for creation is not an optional extra for Christians, but part of worship, discipleship and mission.
A Rocha UK helps individuals, groups, churches and communities think about their use of the environment and helps them to develop practical ways to care for people and the planet, both locally and globally.
A Rocha has been doing this since they started in 1983 in Portugal (where A Rocha means 'the rock'). They are motivated by their biblical beliefs that this is God's world, entrusted to our care, and they welcome anybody who cares about the planet to work with them.
Through their projects and growing national network of A Rocha Friends, they aim to provide information, support and opportunities for everyone to be involved with caring for God's world. From making small changes in our lifestyles to volunteering at one of A Rocha's practical projects, there is something for everyone to try.
A Rocha runs a Friends Scheme and becoming an A Rocha Friend is free. They will send you a booklet about A Rocha, their magazine 3 times a year and their monthly enews so that you can learn more, find out what others are doing and join in.
Operation Noah
Operation Noah is a campaigning organisation focussing on climate change. It exists because God’s creation faces the most urgent peril, which, to be averted, requires a rapid and radical transformation of our economy and culture - towards liveable, supportable lifestyles.
It's mission is to encourage Britain and Ireland’s churches and governments to lead a radical transformation in both our culture and economic systems; a transformation towards simpler, liveable and supportable lifestyles that will increase happiness and well-being, while safeguarding the whole of God’s creation for future generations.
Climate Stewards
Climate Stewards is a project of A Rocha. It encourages people to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide they are producing, and to contribute to projects in poorer parts of the world which will plant trees, whilst developing sustainable forms of income for some of the poorest on the planet. There is an accurate carbon calculator on the site.

Local Christian Environmental Groups
Faiths4Change - a partnership in the North West
Faiths4Change is a community-based environmental programme: people in partnership working for the social economic & spiritual transformation of local environments. Its forerunner was Operation Eden.
Most people want to change the world for the better. In England’s North West, Faiths4Change aims to facilitate residents of faith and goodwill to work in partnership to do this for themselves and their communities.
Based in Liverpool, Manchester, Preston & Burnley Faiths4Change offers free support to people of faith and other local residents to work together, supported by partners from all sectors. Turning their ideas into small scale environmental projects that transform neighbourhoods, building relationships and enabling individuals to gain or develop skills residents work in partnership.
Sage - Oxford's Christian Environmental Group

Interfaith Dorset Education and Action
IDEA is a group that started in 2007. 80 faith representatives gathered in Bournemouth and it became clear very quickly that members of clergy and their communities were thirsty for information about different faiths and also about the science of climate change. IDEA was thus born, to help people learn about each other, about the planet and, most importantly, to act on the knowledge.
